CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY

Last October 24, my husband was kind enough to drive me to the picturesque Monasterio de Tarlac which was situated in the mountainous ridges of Tarlac. There, Abe and I consecrated our family and we did it in front of the relic of the Holy Cross of Jesus Christ, which was located in a chest at the altar of the chapel of the Monasterio. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to touch the chest containing the relic as a couple. Together praying for unity in our marriage, conversion of its members and peace in our immediate family.

For all parents and couples out there, I truly suggest that you say this prayer regularly.  There is a dire need for us to realize the importance of Jesus Christ in the midst of our relationships, our homes and our lives.  To welcome Jesus into our hearts, ask for Mother Mary's maternal protection and be of service of others as well.

CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY

Almighty Father, we consecrate ourselves and
our home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
who loves us with a tender and everlasting love.
Strengthen us with Your grace that we might
return His love in the way we treat,
respect and love each other.

We welcome Jesus as a living member
of our family and ask Him
to be the Heart of the family.
We accept Mary as our heavenly Mother
and seek her protection and help in our daily lives.

Heavenly Father, grant our love may go
beyond our home into the world
so that we may do our part to build Your kingdom,
to feed the hungry, to help the poor, and to lead all
souls to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer for Relationships

Earlier today, I read a Facebook article (and prayer below) regarding marital relationship and how to make your marriage successful. It explicitly indicated that Jesus needs to be in the midst of the relationship. Our trust and love for Jesus, will strengthen and put true joy, understanding and happiness in married lives. For the relationship to be stronger, we should continue to pray to the Lord Jesus, and ask him to bind the marriage and hold our hearts in his Sacred Heart.  With him in the midst, we will experience blessings, guidance and prosperity.

Continue to acknowledge his presence through consistent prayer. Ask for his guidance and surrender your life and your spouse to Him. Daily prayer with your spouse is vital for the relationship to last and faith and trust to overcome the temptations.

Pray together.  Pray the rosary, go to Mass and have total faith and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Remember that all trials are temporary and you can overcome with complete faith and trust in the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Prayer for Relationships

"Dear God, thank you so much for bringing us
together again as a couple.
We know that you have a plan and
a purpose for our marriage,
and we invite you, Lord Jesus,
to forgive the past self-centeredness,
and come into our lives and relationship.
Direct our steps from now on.
Please give us the grace to put You
and each other first every day.
Make our relationship a blessing to others.
But most of all; make it a blessing to You. Amen."

Prayer to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

Prayer to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

Eucharistic Heart of Jesus,
gracious companion of our exile, I adore Thee.
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, lonely Heart,
humiliated Heart, abandoned Heart,
forgotten Heart, despised Heart,
outraged Heart,
Heart ignored by men,
Heart which loves our own hearts;
Heart pleading for our love,
Heart so patient in waiting for us,
Heart so eager to listen to our prayers,
Heart so anxious for our requests,
Heart, unending source of new graces,
Heart so silent, yet desiring to speak to souls,
Heart, welcome refuge of the hidden life,
Heart, teacher of the secrets of union with God,
Heart of Him Who sleeps but watches always,
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus,
have mercy on us.
Jesus Victim, I desire to comfort Thee;
I unite myself to Thee;
I offer myself in union with Thee.
I regard myself as nothing in Thy Presence.
I long to forget myself in order to think only of Thee,
to be despised and forgotten for love of Thee.
I have no desire to be understood or loved
by anyone but Thee.
I will keep silent in order to listen to Thee,
and I will abandon myself in order to lose
myself in Thee.
Grant that I may thus satisfy
Thy thirst for my salvation,
Thy burning thirst for my holiness,
and that once purified
I may give Thee
a sincere and pure love.
I am anxious not to tire Thee
further with waiting:
take me, I hand myself over to Thee.
I give Thee all my actions,
my mind to be enlightened,
my heart to be directed,
my will to be stabilized,
my wretchedness to be relieved,
my soul and body to be nourished by Thee.
Eucharistic Heart of my Saviour,
Whose Blood is the life of my soul,
may I myself cease to live
and Thou alone live in me. Amen.
